Abstract
Urban-rural disparities in contraceptive knowledge and attitudes towards use contribute significantly to the country’s high fertility rate and widening socioeconomic inequalities. Addressing these gaps is crucial for achieving national reproductive health objectives and advancing progress towards sustainable development goals. Despite ongoing efforts, rural areas remain underserved and less informed about modern contraceptive options, which hinders informed-decision making. This study assessed and compared the knowledge and attitudes towards the use of modern contraceptive methods among married women residing in urban and rural areas of Rivers State, Nigeria.
